| Abstract: | The Michael Bhatia papers contain materials related to his research, humanitarian work, and education. Among the most important materials are the notebooks Bhatia kept while in Afghanistan on a humanitarian mission. It also includes papers written for courses at Brown University, syllabi for classes taught or taken by Bhatia, maps of the Western Sahara region and of Afghanistan, posters from the 2004 democratic election in Afghanistan and many articles and chapters from books used by Bhatia for his research on the causes of war, humanitarian aid, refugees, the military and American culture, and various 20th and 21st century conflicts notably Somalia, Rwanda, Kosovo, Bosnia and Afghanistan. |
