Scope & content
This collection consists of two letters written in 1902. The first letter is from George C. Mason, Jr. to Mary Edith Powel (1846-1931), an author in Newport, Rhode Island, on March 12, 1902, regarding his father’s 1884 publication, Reminiscences of Newport, and his plans for reprinting the volume with illustrations. The second letter is a draft of a letter sent by Powel in response to Mason, Jr. on May 7, 1902, in which she requests to reserve a copy of Mason Jr.’s reprint of his father’s Reminiscences of Newport.
