Scope & content

This collection is comprised primarily of hand-written notes copied from many historical and genealogical sources on North Kingstown history and families during the Colonial period as well as research into religious history/theology. The notes are recorded in notebooks, notecards and on photocopies of published materials. Some of the photocopied and loose research material was categorized and placed in large envelope and given a title - those are reflected in the folder titles. Other photocopied and loose material were foldered together based on research subject.

Biographical Note

Born in 1907 in Providence, RI, Hazel Greenleaf was a resident of Cranston, Rhode Island most of her life. She graduated from Bryant and Stratton Business College (now Bryant College) in 1929 and later helped found the Cranston Historical Society. She lived the final 16 years of her life in North Kingstown and died in 1988.
