Biographical note

Arlan Ralph Coolidge was a music scholar, especially interested in American music of 19th and 20th centuries. He graduated from Brown University in 1924 and was a member of the Brown Faculty from 1930 to 1950. He prepared a study of Francis H. Brown (1818-1891).
