Historical note

The Rhode Island Disability Vote Project (RIDVP) was established as a collaboration of organizations of people with disabilities and service providers and is affiliated with the National Disability Vote Alliance, founded by the American Association of People with Disabilities. Their objective is to build a nonpartisan and powerful voting bloc of people with disabilities and providers of services in Rhode Island, addressing the fundamental inequalities faced by voters with disabilities and working to ensure full accessibility to all polling places and voting equipment. James deBoer (Brown University Class of 2005) served as the project coordinator from 2006-2008. He was succeeded by Jean Lawlor who was still the coordinator of the project as of December 2011.
