Historical note

Founded as a quarterly in 1970 by William Ransom, the West Coast Poetry Review was based in Reno, Nevada, and was a member of the Coordinating Council of Literary Magazines. The magazine was later published and edited by poets William Lyman Fox and Bruce McAllister. It focused on experimental forms in typography, conceptual art, and writing; with some attention to concrete poetry and translations. Printed by R. W. Stovall Printing, Inc. (Reno); typeset by Nevada Typesetting. Contributors included: Eugene Guillevic, Pablo Neruda, Andre Pieyre de Mandiargues, Francois Dodat, Douglas Blazek, Ron Arias, Greg Kuzma, Deena Metzger, William Stafford, Richard Kostelanetz, Hugh Fox, Joanne de Longchamps, Aaron Marcus, William Lyman Fox and Bruce McAllister.
