The collection includes family and editorial correspondence, diaries, notes, worksheets, typescript poems, stories, plays, photographs, articles, books, and clippings from various members of the Dickinson and Hampson families, including Alexander Manuilovich Bianchi (Martha's husband), Alfred Leete Hampson (Martha's secretary and collaborator), Edward Austin Dickinson (Ned) (Martha's brother), Edward Dickinson (Emily's father), Emily Norcross Dickinson (Emily’s mother), Elizabeth Throop Smith (Susan's niece), Lavinia Norcross Dickinson (Emily's sister), Martha Dickinson Bianchi (Emily's niece), Martha Gilbert Smith (Susan’s sister), Mary Landis Hampson (Alfred's wife), Mabel Loomis Todd (Austin's mistress), Perez Dickinson Cowan (Emily’s cousin), Susan Huntington Dickinson (Sue)(Martha's mother), Thomas Gilbert Dickinson, (Gib) (Martha's brother), and William Austin Dickinson (Austin) (Martha's father).
