Scope & content

This collection consists of a small set of professional papers of Carolyn Korsmeyer, Professor of Philosophy at the University of Buffalo. The papers regard Korsmeyer’s contribution to Feminist Scholarship – a collective book project co-authored by Ellen Carol DuBois, Gail Paradise Kelly, Elizabeth Lapovsky Kennedy, Carolyn Korseyer, and Lillian S. Robinson – as well as Korsmeyer’s participation in the Society of Women in Philosophy (SWIP) professional organization. Items include the Feminist Scholarship book prospectus as well as book reviews, correspondence, and research related to the project. Society of Women in Philosophy files consist of Eastern Division conference materials from 1982 where Korsmeyer presented a lecture about Feminist Scholarship.

The Carolyn Korsmeyer papers may be particularly interesting to researchers studying women in the academy and feminist philosophy. Files are arranged alphabetically by topic in one series. The processor created the arrangement and folder titles.
