The collection is organized in one series: I. Office files, circa 1954-1982
Historical note
The Office of University Relations is currently called the Office of Public Affairs and University Relations (PAUR). It serves members of the Brown community, news media, alumni, prospective students, parents and the general public. The PAUR team includes staff who work in media relations, news, communications and pubicity; web site design, photographic services, multimedia production, community outreach, government relations, and the publication of the
Brown Alumni Magazine.
PAUR includes the Office of Government Relations and Community Affairs (GRCA), which "promotes interactions and communications on behalf of Brown with government at the local, city, state, and federal levels. GRCA advocates on behalf of students, faculty, and staff through direct contacts with elected officials and through involvement with statewide and nationwide educational organizations." This office also acts as a liasion between Brown and the surrounding community.

There are no restrictions on access, except that the collection can only be seen by prior appointment. Some materials may be stored off-site and cannot be produced on the same day on which they are requested. |
