Abstract: This collection contains the paper of Michael Spero, a Civil engineer, born in Newport, R.I.. Spero was a graduate of Rhode Island State College who was involved with the planning and construction of more than five hundred dams in the United States. He was also employed by the United Nations as Expert, Planning Engineer, and Advisor to the Government of Afghanistan Irrigation and Water Resources Development Authority, 1973-1975. The bulk of the materials in this collection relate to Spero's work in Afghanistan.
