Church of Messiah (Mss. Gr. 196)

The Subject Files contain general files kept at the parish rectory concerning various aspects of parish life and business, including church programs, correspondence, annual reports and letters of transfer. The Financial Records contain financial documentation and material concerning parish expenses and budget from as early as 1854 up until 2004, as well as information on savings and parish bank accounts. The Pledges series documents monetary contributions made by parish members and families to the Church of the Messiah. The Publications series contains published materials from the church including newsletters and weekly Sunday bulletins. The Organizations series contains files on various parish organizations and parish groups such as the Church School and the Women's Auxillary. The Vestry Series contains meeting minutes documenting the discussion and resolution of problems and issues in conducting parish business by the Vestry of the Church of the Messiah. The Register series contains documentation on marriages, baptisms, confirmations, burials and parish families. The Images series contains photographs that document parish events and date as far back as the 1870s. Finally, the realia series contains artifacts from the Church, such as flags from the parish school, scrapbooks of newspaper articles, and bowling trophies from the Church of the Messiah's team in the Episcopal Bowling League.
