The 1883 Vanderbilt Fancy Dress Ball Album Collection is comprised of the photographs extant within the photograph album. The album dates from 1883 and was made at the request of Mrs. William K. Vanderbilt (nee Alva Erskine Smith) to contain the photographs taken by portrait photographer Jose Maria Mora of the costumed guests who attended the Vanderbilt Fancy Dress Ball of March 26, 1883.
