This collection includes correspondence, Elizabeth Buffum Chace’s commonplace book and diary, family albums, scrapbooks, photographs, an album of familial hair locks, needlework (cross stitch samplers), newspaper clippings, and other material relating to the Buffums, the Chaces, the Cheneys, and the Tolmans. The papers also contain letters in response to Chace’s book "Anti-Slavery Reminiscences." Elizabeth Buffum Chace was an activist for prison reform, the rights of orphans, peace, and temperance.
This collection consists of correspondence Marjorie W. Champlin (1921-1993) of Jamestown, Rhode Island, received in reply to the letters she sent to various United States and Rhode Island legislators and politicians, college professors, journalists, a member of England’s House of Commons, and Queen Elizabeth’s personal secretary at Buckingham Palace.
This collection consists of one undated letter from Frederick S. Church (1842-1924), an American artist and illustrator. This letter also includes original illustrations done by Church of his studio in Far Hills, New Jersey, and of various animals.
The collection is made up of eleven typed letters signed and one autographed letter signed to Professor William J. Griffin at George Peabody College, Nashville, Tennessee. Most letters are about his writing, with one form letter to Rodger P. Kingston.

relating to the establishment of a naval coaling station in Narraganset Bay. Also
included are journals and letterpress copybooks kept by past NWC presidents Charles
