ATU Division 618, formerly known as the Amalgamated Association of Street and Electric Railway Employees, represents transit workers of Providence, Rhode Island. The majority of the collection consists of business agent files, proceedings, programs, and reports.

The American Association of University Professors has a rich history dating back to 1913. In this year the Association was created to represent academe's common interests and deal with the problems of university policy. In 1931 the local chapter at URI formed with two members: Joseph W. Ince of the Chemistry department and Andrew J. Newman, director of the school's placement service and lecturer in public finance. The records in this collection pertain to miscellaneous materials from the 1940s through the 1960s including meeting notices and member lists.

The collection consists of the records of Arthur H. Riani who was a longtime employee of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen, Lodge 66 of Providence, Rhode Island. Riani served almost 50 years with the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen, representing Lodge 66 at numerous conventions. The majority of the records deal with Riani's service to the Brotherhood.
