The records of the Providence Milk Commission consist of financial and business records related to the Commission’s activities from 1931 to 1985. The series concerning Hillside Farms contains reports on the health of its employees and the results of tests to determine the quality of the milk produced there.
A collection of historical documents from the petition for a charter in 1763 to the change of name from Rhode Island College to Brown University in 1804. Titles of the papers and folder numbers are taken from the two volumes in which the papers had previously been mounted.

The material represents Elisabeth and Robert Dexter’s humanitarian work in Europe with the Unitarian Service Committee, their respective historical and sociological research projects, and the life and work of Elisabeth’s father Alfred Williams Anthony, a Baptist minister and educator.
