The James Pickwell Adams papers consist of office files, speeches, materials related to the reorgainzation of Brown University (1926-1940), and materials related to the Gold Standard Project (1933-1935). The files are dated from 1920 to 1969. Most of the material was compiled between 1931 and 1945, during Adams' tenure as Vice President of Brown University.
The Committee on Prizes and Premiums records date from 1923 through 1976. Included in the collection are administrative records, correspondence, certificates, financial documents. essays, speeches, flyers and posters.

The collection contains correspondence, financial documents, lists of speakers, speeches, schedules, programs, seating arrangements, menus, videos and photographs.
The War Memorial dedication records is a collection of addresses and a program for the dedication services for the War Memorial held at Brown University on May 25, 1997. The services included addresses on World War I, World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War.
