The John Hay papers consists of Hay's correspondence with his family and with literary, diplomatic, and political contemporaries; diaries kept by Hay as Lincoln's White House aide and as Secretary of the Legations in Paris, Vienna, and Madrid, 1866-1870; manuscript poems; galley proofs; personal letterpress copy books; photographs of Hay, his family, and various political figures; political cartoons; sound recordings; and a small collection of objects. Subjects include: Civil War; Lincoln and his administration; Reconstruction; court life in Paris; the bi-metal monetary standard; the Canadian boundary settlement; the fur seal question; Japanese naval activity; Chinese-American relations; the Spanish-American and Philippine-American Wars; British and American politics.

The Global Curatorial Project: Unfinished Conversations series is an archival collection of oral histories gathered as part of the larger Global Curatorial Project which also includes a traveling exhibition using materials from the collection. These files are all related to the documenting, translating, and recording the oral histories of project participants who are connected to the communities they live in and can provide testimonies to living in the modern wake of slavery. This collection is comprised of external hard drives and electronic records documenting the oral histories of participants including formats such as: BRAW, docx, jpeg, mov, mp4, mp3, tif, and wav files.

The records of the Kingstowne Music Club extend from 1939 to 1966. There is no indication that the Club was to be disbanded after 1966, but the records stop that year. The material is generally in good condition. Performance programs show music performed at the Club's yearly series of musical events, and minutes and reports show the business activity of the Club. Membership lists are detailed and thorough. A cash book shows dues paid. This material documents a strong interest and participation in efforts to enrich community life through music in Kingston, Rhode Island during the period. Some performance programs from the 1940s are missing
